The twins flopped down on the couch, ready to spend their first day of their winter vacation relaxing in front of the TV.

Alec and Dylan were home with their mom, who was in her office trying to get some work done. And what should come on but the beginning of Ransom, depicting a scene where Mel Gibson tickles his son. Alec snorted.

"What?" Dylan asked, cocking his head. "How freaking ticklish is that kid? I mean, he's laughing like that while getting tickled under a blanket and through his shirt. Come on." Alec tried to muffle his giggles.

"Oh, shut up." Dylan grumbled. "Dude. Come on. You are so ticklish." Alec said, jabbing his brother's side. The eleven-year-old giggled. "And you're not?" Dylan replied, diving onto his brother. He dug his fingers into Alec's armpits, drawing forth loud belly laughs. "Iheehee nehehever said thahahat!"

Satisfied, Dylan sat back up. "That's what you get when you tickle me." he admonished his twin. Alec stuck out his tongue. "You started it!"

A verbal squabble broke out, drawing the attention of their mother. "Boys! What's going on?" They both attempted to blame the other, but she held up a hand, and silence descended on the room. She looked at the TV, and saw Ransom playing.

She now understood exactly what was happening, and rolled her eyes. "Not this again." The squabbling recommenced. "Alright! That's it! We're settling this!"

They looked at her, confused. "Lay down on the floor, both of you." They acquisced. "Shirts up!" she commanded. "Mom, wha-" Alec began, but he was cut off. "Nope! shirts up!" The twins did so, and their mom immediately grabbed their arms, stuck them over their heads, and sat on them.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Dylan said. "Well, you boys have argued about who's more ticklish for as long as I can remember. So, we're going to settle it now." They both now realized what was happening, and began to struggle wildly.

"Too late!" she said, digging her fingers into her sons' bellies. They both stopped thrashing and began giggling wildly, drumming their heels loudly on the floor. "That's more like it." their mom said, enjoying their cute giggles. "I think Dylan is winning so far. But I think we need to keep going for a while yet, don't you? We need to get a significant test."

The twins shook their heads, laughing wildly now. They were both quite ticklish on their tummies, a fact their parents had exploited many, many times throughout their lives. It was often used to diffuse fights, much like the situation they were currently in.

"Well, boys. There's only one spot left." their mother said after five minutes of belly tickles. "Time for the bellybutton!" She dug her index fingers into their navels, and squeals rang out through the living room.

"I think that's enough." she declared after about thirty seconds. "I declare... it's a tie!" "What?!" Dylan exclaimed as he sat up. "I kind of just wanted to tickle you two."

Alec stuck out his tongue. "Grrr. Don't do that again!" His mom ruffled his hair. "Nice try, kiddo."
